The following are general job positions at Valley Medical Imaging radiology clinics.
We accept applications on an ongoing basis, resumes are kept on file for six months.

SONOGRAPHER

The sonographer is responsible for producing ultrasonograms as requested by the referring physician; coordinating the processing of images; assisting the Radiologist as required; completing required documentation on clinical records and reports; communicating with the clinical team members to ensure a consistent, supportive approach to the examination process for the patient.

Qualifications

  1. Diploma in Medical Ultrasonography or equivalent.
  2. Registered member of CSDMS as well as either ARDMS or CARDUP Certification. Must carry liability insurance with the Canadian Association.
  3. Related experience in diagnostic ultrasonography.
  4. Demonstrated interest in maintaining professional development i.e., taking additional courses, participation on professional committees, adherence to professional code of ethics
  5. Physically able to perform the duties of the position.

RADIOGRAPHER

The Radiographer is responsible for the delivery of quality radiography services to patients. The Radiographer performs related clinical and administrative duties to produce requested digital images; assists the Radiologist in special procedures; completes required documentation on clinical records and reports; and communicates with the clinical team members to ensure a consistent, supportive approach to the examination process for the patient

Qualifications

  1. Diploma in Medical Radiography or equivalent.
  2. Registered member of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists and the B.C. Association of Medical Radiation Technologists. Must carry liability insurance with the Canadian Association.
  3. Related experience in diagnostic radiology.
  4. Demonstrated interest in maintaining professional development i.e., taking additional courses, participation on professional committees, adherence to professional code of ethics
  5. Physically able to perform the duties of the position.

MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT

The Clerical Staff members are responsible for the delivery of quality patient services, office communication, and information storage and retrieval services to patients and staff by performing related reception and clerical duties.

Responsibilities include greeting patients; collecting and recording all relevant patient information; receiving calls from referrals and patients; booking and confirming appointments, and patient billings.

Additional duties include providing word processing services from written or dictaphone format; maintaining a record of all reports; preparing statistical information; providing office support to staff and Radiologists; processing report/film requests; and handling patient billings.

Qualifications

  1. Clerical and related computer systems courses/certificates or equivalent training and experience.
  2. Experience in medical office procedures is an asset.
  3. Minimum one-year experience in clerical procedures.
  4. Experience working with computer software.
  5. Excellent demonstrated/referenced skills in both verbal and written English, including grammar.
  6. Demonstrated ability to respond to the public in a pleasant manner in all types of situations.
